Edgewood's Gardens Await the Sunshine
Outside the Early Learning Center playground and adjacent to the pond and south community porch, Edgewood’s gardens await the warm weather of late spring and summer.
The soil is mounded in rows and hills, flower seed is scattered and the peas are showing the promise of blossoms and pods. This summer residents and visitors can expect to reap the bounty – vegetables and flowers of every conceivable color.
The best part of all is that the children and the residents helped make it happen by starting seedlings and planting flowers and, once it’s harvest time, by picking the fruits of their labors.
What could be better on a sunny July afternoon than sitting in the garden popping cherry tomatoes into your mouth?
