Mixing Generations: The key to longevity?
Intergenerational Programming is a fundamental part of our early learning program here at the Edgewood Centre. This program is one that is based on reciprocity, is sustained and intentional, and involves education and preparation for all ages. Young and old are viewed as assets - not problems to be solved.
This social movement involving the youth and elderly coming together to connect, grow, invent, explore, challenge, and create in engaging and interactive ways is not only beneficial to our residents, but to our young students.
Check out this short clip to see how ongoing child interactions benefit our older generations! https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2018/02/05/elderly-care-home-children-vital-signs-orig.cnn
